I just came across this website workshoplive.com and was considering taking some lessons from there. Has anyone had any experience with it and what do you think about online bass lessons? I feel like I'm pressed for time so I want to learn as much as I can as fast as I can around my university work. Thanks.

I've never heard of workshoplive, but I have taken classes at the Music Dojo and they were good, especially Adan Nitti's Improv classes. Now I am taking correspondence lessons with Cliff Engel of the IIB and those are going great.

It's always better to have a real live teacher. But Workshop Live is pretty cool, I worked for their parent company this summer and I might go teach there next summer. The material WSL has is good, but if you don't get it there's no recourse, you're stuck with just the video.

Workshop Live just started up in August of 2006. One of my local bass instructors is one of the bass instructors on there (Dave Overthrow). He's an excellent teacher and a heck of a player. If his video lessons are close to as good as his private lessons, I'd say go fo it.

Best of luck and have fun!!

I have been taking lessons for about 3 weeks with W.S.L. I like it a lot.
