I am asking this here because I don't know where else it would fit.
I am having trouble hearing the Basslines in alot of songs. I think it is because I wear hearing aids that are EQed to enhance the treble and cut back on the lows.

I had a Fender Amp with CD in and headphones and it sounded like grits.

I was thinking of getting a small mixer and run the CD player through it on one line and have the headphone out line from my amp on another. That way I could EQ the CD so I could hear the Bassline better. Then combine it with the headphone out for practice.

On my Fender amp (a Rumble 60), the CD in is unnaffected by the EQ settings (or volume) of the amp, so a mixer would not be necessary. I would just need a CD player that let me EQ its output (most do) prior to the amp.

You could:
1) Carefully EQ songs with Goldwave and put 'em on CD as mp3
OR
2) Play 'em thru a computer using the EQ in WinMediaplayer
OR

Spend a very small amount on a POD(Behringer if you're careful with it), play CD's into that with your bass into phones.

99% of my woodshedding is at a PC so I use both Goldwave to make the bass stand out better AND play things into a POD. The SONY CD player I carry with me has a 4 pre-set bass boost(none, a bit, more, and speaker-blower level) that also helps if I'm away from a PC.

I've NEVER been able to do the amp/headphone thing and get it to sound good until I got a POD and some ACME's. Now I can do phones or via the ACME's....

Also: Make SURE your phones can do bass really well. I've some very old(replaced the ear-foam twice) KOSS's.

arbarhart I tried doing it your way on the Fender Bassman practice amp. It didn't work for me .

Johnny I will look into the goldwave Idea. I tried the through the computer EQ no help there it got all muffled.

My hearing is just too bad for "normal" fixes I will work it out.
