Writing of lyrics to the songs

how do i write lyrics to the songs, do i; just write lyrics that sound like the music, or just wirte the f*ckers?

i think writing the lyrics first makes them better, just change them later if they don't fit the music

yeah i write all the lyrics first, and if the ryhme scheme doesnt work or if its too short or long i change that when i write the music

I have a couple different books on writing lyrics. Both say it is harder to put music to lyrics than the other way around. However, if a lyric inspires you to write music, by all means do it. It probably won't be too hard to adjust the phrasing once you have the music.
