Bass and Nature Camp

Yo Ant!

I just wanted to say hello, and that I will be attending Bass and Nature camp in May.

I am really looking forward to this chance to study with the gang there. I have a great deal of respect for all of you.

Do you personally have any advice for future campers?

Yo Jeff,

I wrote a response earlier but it got lost in cyber space.

I'm looking forward to meeting you in May. Be sure to say hello and that we wrote to each other on TB.

I highly recommend that you take tons of note and audio record every single lesson. we give out a lot of information. It'll be hard to remember everything that is said. It'll even be hard to write down everything that is said. It's better to go over the recording later and take notes.

Everything doen there is for a reason. Some of those reason you won't understand for years. But everything is to heighten your awareness. I'll 'time' and 'pitch' problems with music are awareness problems.

peace,
anthony

Nice! I love the Groove Workshop DVD... Very insightful. I'm hoping that the camp is like a week long version of the DVD on steroids!

Also, my birthday is May 17th (during camp). Can't wait, it should be a blast.

Cool. I fly to Nashville on the 6th to rehearse for your. Then we go straight into camp. Then rehearsals again after camp. Then we hit the road. My birthday is 5/10 and I'll be in Nashville to.

Hey Jeff... I'll be there, too. However, my birthday will be long past (it's this weekend).

Yeah, Happy Birthday JimL. Looking forward to meeting you too.

Is this your first time attending the camp JimL?

I haven't been to a camp of any kind in 40 years. It should be interesting.

Be prepared to not play your bass nearly as much as you assume.

Try to empty your cup (I suck at that), and expect the unexpected. The most powerful lessons you'll learn at camp have nothing to do with music. But have everything to do with music.

Confused? That's the perfect place to start

Yo Todd,

You're a martial artist. You should be good at emptying your cup.

Usually I just spill them...

Progress, not perfection.

I'm going to be out there too! This'll be my first time anywhere near TN so I am very excited. First camp in 8 years for me. Good info to take in, Anthony. Thanks for the insight. Anyone else flying out from the west coast?

I'm coming from California, but I'm spending the next week in Missouri visiting family and friends (and getting re-acclimated to heat, humidity, and big bugs).

Buddy, I hear ya. I can't even think of camping anymore due to a really lousy back.
