My other Yin Yang is Walnut/Birdseye maple. It's awesome. There are only 3 yin yang Imperials. I have 2 of them. The 1st and last. The 2nd one built was inspired by my 1st one.

Everywhere we go I pull it out and people, bass player and non-bass players, just lose their minds. The details are amazing.
The only way I could be luckier is if Halle Berry wanted to hook up and showed up with a Fodera Yin Yang Imperial fretless with the same woods but in opposite position. Wow! That just gave me the idea for my next Fodera,...and Halle Berry(but I can't share that thought here).
The guys and girls at Fodera are amazing. We know Vinnie and Joey are. But everyone there is amazing.
peace,
anthony |

| | | | Amazing bass, my man! I'm kinda surprised no one else on here has asked you yet, but what was the motivating factor in getting a six?

It was really simple. I have two 4 string Foderas. I have four 5 string Foderas. I didn't have any 6 string Foderas. And I had the idea of doing it in buckeye for a long time.

| | | Cool cool. I'm always interested in why someone chooses a particular configuration; whether it's for playing a specific style of music, or just for more note options for soloing, greater options for arpeggios, etc.
I started to play 5's predominantly because the band I was in was a metal band using 7 string guitars, and I wanted to be able to play along with them without being limited to hitting unison notes when I was playing the same line as the guitarists. Now, though, a 4 just feels... well, small to me. 6's have always felt kinda big for me personally, but as the old saying goes, different strokes for different folks.
Glad you're digging your new baby; hopefully I'll get to see you play it at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC on Nov. 5th! I honestly can't think of anyone off hand that could better exploit a sixer than you, sir! Hope things are going well for you. Take it easy, man!

I'm sure there are some videos of me playing that bass because I used it on 1 or 2 songs every night.
Definitely one of my favorite sounding basses. I'm a fan of ebony fretboards now. I can definitely hear the difference.

| | | | Ant, do you ever have any trouble with bringing your basses as a carry-on? If so, how do you resolve it? Would love to know! If you answered this elsewhere, my apologies for the repeat question.
