| Flat wounds are mellow and tend to focus more on the fundamentals of the note, thus, the highs are sort of subdued and don't take over. Flats are great for Motown, raggae and blues where the fundamental note is more important. Roundwounds have more presence in higher notes and are great for slap or pick playing. They also are good for finger style especially if you really dig in and want that to come out |
