Looking for a good five string Electric bass

I've been thinking about picking up the Dean*EABC 5-String Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Bass. I was wondering if you knew of this as being a good bass for an intermediate player. Also if you can recomend another bass to be looked into. Thanks

Why acoustic? I'm not Doug, nor a pro, but I'll drop two things out there, Dean is a low price point deal, so beware. And most importanly, if you're not a 5 string player now, you really need to hold a few necks. When I first went five, it was like trying on boots. I had to find the right size.

The big deal with 5'er is the string spacing. Some cats find 16.5mm just fine, and for some of us, even 19mm is too narrow!

I've heard nothing but good things about Dean, and I'd really recommend checking out a Pedulla But BuffaloBass is right - you've got to get them in your hands and ears to find the one that chooses you.
