I'm also in need of info on DB teachers in Reno. One of my classical students is moving there and I'm trying to help her locate one. I looked over the Reno Symphony's website and couldn't find any biographical information on their bass players. Someone must know something out there.

It may be helpful to check the e-mail list on the International Society of Bassists website for players/instructors in the Reno-Tahoe area (isbworldoffice.com). If you don't find anyone on that, there is a chance some body at the ISB office could help you. Here's their email address: info@isbworldoffice.com

If you are looking for a classical teacher, Nancy Hoffman
in Sparks is excellent (plays in the Reno Phil) and Brad
Lund in Carson City (also in the Reno Phil) Brad also teaches
Jazz if your interested. Hans Halt (teaches at UNR) but only
teaches Jazz !! Not into classical bowing but OK for a starter.
All three are excellent teachers depending on what style of
playing you want to learn.
