In Monk songs like "Well You Needn't," or "Epistrophy," their are runs of Dominant 7th chords descending and ascending by half step.
The three most compact ways of voicing a triad (forget the 7th for now) all involve a shift.
What I'm hoping some of you Ole Pro's

can offer me is a few different perspectives or aproaches on such progressions.
A few examples I can think of are...
1. Forget the third
2. Voice the triad in the direction of the progression (ascending for ascending and descending for descending)
3. Alternating Inversions (R,3 - 3,R - R,3 - 3, R)
Gotta have perspective...
