Good gigs in Miami

Hi, I'm a college bound bassist in Miami, and I'm a newbie to jazz. I've been playing jazz for about 3 years, but I can hold my own with the best musicians, I've played with the best high school jazz guys in the state and college kids so I can play with the young crowd. I'm not that experienced when it comes to finding places to gig cause usually horn players call me up but now that I have my own band I need to find some places to play, particularly places that are receptive to young musicians and new talent.

Yeah! Good luck Juan. I dunno, hope that I can match you someday. As far as I've heard, talk to people, talk a lot, make connections. Maybe you should hit up some of those really fancy restaurants. My band director plays at Sheba's from time to time, maybe you can find something similar.
