Help me out

Hey,

I've just bought my first double bass and I need some advices on technique. I've played electric bass for several years.

I need some input from you guys to prevent me from learning to play "wrong". Just the general stuff; How to stand, right/left hand technique, finger-technique etc.

I play jazz-standards and bluegrass.

Hoel, you're to be commended for your concern about learning correct technique, but for somebody to explain "the general stuff" to you, they would have to be in the same room as you, so my advice would be to get a few lessons with a competent teacher as soon as possible. Those first lessons will be the best double bass related investment you'll ever make.
