Jazz Theory Handbook

I haven't seen any mention of this book here on talkbass, so let me recommend the excellent "Jazz Theory Handbook" by Peter Spitzer. It's a very good introduction to Jazz Theory. It's not the only book you'll want, but it's a good place to start. Lots of practical information in there.
