maybe some help?

this seems like it would be a widely asked question, but I searched, and could not find my answer..

I started double bass about 6 months ago, and I really have delved into plucking the strings with my fingers (pizzicato - I cant spell haha), and starting some simple walking lines.

I have come from being a proficient electric bass player, but the plucking is more horizantal and lightly off the top of the strings. My instructor says that I need to dig in more, but I just don't get it. I really have only been working on perfecting my bowing as of now.

So if anyone could give me some tips, perhaps if you play both as well, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Joe

You can also go to Ron Carter's website below . . .

Click on the "Gallery" tab and watch several videos. You can see his right hand quite a bit. I found this helpful a couple of years ago when I was in your same situation.

Good Luck . . .
