There's a lot of good things happening in this video and I think you're doing a greak job. I can tell you have practiced a lot.
2 Ideas to look at. .
1.I have one suggestion above everything else and that's to really think about shaping what your playing more. Phrasing and dynamics, leaving a bit of space between the lines in the improv to frame your ideas......So shape your everything you are doing by using a broader range of dynamics, both within the piece and individual phrases.
2. This is a related technical issue. I dont think your right hand should be moving your thumb round the back of the fingerboard to access the G string. I think it works better letting it lightly rest touching the side of the fingerboard and teaching over the front. Doing what you are now makes it harder to use arm weight and means you end up with some big bends at the wrist and all the power comes from the fingers. It's also harder to use the side of the fingers resulting in a loss of tone. You can see the 'web' bit between your thumb and 1st finger touching the fingerboard in the video.
Well done for learning a melody as this will help develop the melodic side of your playing. I thought your playing sounded good and I enjoyed listening.
Have a great weekend. Geoff
