There are reasons to love/hate both. IMO, the only thing that matters is whether that music speaks to you or not. I myself, like structure, so Dave Holland's clip is less appealing... but it doesn't mean I didn't like that clip. |

I am big fans of both Dave Holland and NHOP but those videos do not exhibit the things about their playing that I admire. Sure I love seeing those guys shred a fingerboard to pieces and it impresses the heck out of me, but when they use those chops in a lyrical fashion. That's when I'm floored.
