New Walking Bass Line Videos

Been very busy with the old video camera this week. Here is the latest lesson, in which I discuss fingerings for the basic seventh chords. Hope it is helpful.

Thanks, Bill! By the way, I'm digging the play-along tracks (shameless plug)

Wow - thank you. I never knew there was such a huge area of resources for the double bass and things on you tube - and you explain things so very well!

I'm a classical player, but been asked to play in a jazz band, and, well, to say I was completely at sea with the sort of music that they play (no improvisation!!) would be an understatement and I was drowning - real bad - so, thank you for throwing me a life-line, launching the life-boat and bringing me back into safety - and finding dry clothes!

When I went along for the first practice - I was expected to play like I'd been a member of their group for years - to be honest, when I got home, I put the bass in the corner and didn't touch it for several months - it completely broke my enthusiasm for an instrument I'd loved before. I probably shouldn't even be thinking of going back to them, but, they have asked, and, things have changed as I've been playing some pop songs along with a nice group, so, have re-discovered the joys of playing with other people again.

Well - hopefully with the help of your videos, I might feel more confident about going back - so, thank you for taking the time to put up your videos.
