Real Book -- small size

Hi all,
I saw someone using a very small and compact sized real book and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find one. I already own a jazz real book, but it's the big size and I would love to have this mini one which would be much easier to carry around.

thanks in advance,

look for the 'pocket changes' book - it has everything in it and more! and its pretty cheap and tiny!

It's Pocket Changes. There's a Pocket Changes II, too.

Thank you both! this is exactly what I was looking for. I see there are no melodies, which is fine.
But out of curiousity, is there a mini sized one that also has the melody lines written?

You can get them at Jazzbooks.com as well. That's Jamey Aebersold's website. There are a ton of other books and recordings there to check out as well.

Pocketbooks I and II are really small and are really easy to carry around. The changes are pretty good for the most part. No melodies but if you need something to help you cheat on the tunes you don't know, it is a real help without being too obvious.

The book you're referring to is the mini version of the Real Book. There are 2 volumes in mini form. It is exactly the same as the full-sized version content-wise. It is about 2/3 the physical size though. If you need to take fake books with you, these are definitely easier to haul around than their full-sized cousins.

It's kind of hard to see the changes in the small real books. It can be kind of a pain in less than ideal lighting. The pocket changes are better.

A word of warning from one who own the small Real Books 1 & 2 by Hal Leonard as well as the original non-Hal Leonard Realbooks. The Hal Leonard versions do not have the exact same songs as the original Realbooks. Hal Leonard edition have excluded some songs that they couldn't acquire copyrights and have instead included additional songs that are not in the original Realbook. So, the the legal Leonard and illegal original Realbooks can only compliment, but not replace. It sucks when you're at the gig, proud that you've saved weight by not hauling the your larger and heavier original Realbooks only to find out that you can't play 25% of the songs your band called because they all have the non-Hal Leonard Realbooks.
