right hand three finger technique

How many of you here use three fingers pizz? I caught a video on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypZbagxgxIo) that shows Eddie Gomez's right hand during a solo. It looks like he uses his ring finger to pluck for speed and other times it seems to be used in conjunction with his middle finger. I saw Roscoe Mitchell a few years ago and the bassist with him was using three fingers too. I think NHOP used to use a similar technique. I don't think I would use it for walking but in the upper range of the bass it seems to work pretty well. Any thoughts?

I use it a lot , i like fast NHOP style-improvisation a lot.
Actually , great for walking rythmics to.
Takes some time to get the strenght in the finger.
