Rufus Reid Interview

LINK

Covers all sorts of stuff ... beginner to advanced. I've only seen the first part but as an upright noob I found it very useful.

Great stuff. Thanks. I especially like the philosophy stuff in part 3. "you gotta rock the band!!!"

There's also an interview in the latest Jazz Improv magazine.

Lot of good content, only criticism is the sound
was poor, lots of times you can hardly hear
Rufus.

Hopefully its a mix thing and it can be fixed??

Good stuff though, thanks!

Talking

Thanks for your comments, really glad you found it useful.

Shame about the sound - I used an external microphone but it malfunctioned and so had to rely on the sound signal being picked up from one of the small video cameras.

The guy that mixed it for me did the best he could to warm it up a little bit but I think thats all we can do.

Next time I'll use a seperate sound recodring device.

We aim to get more videos from some great players - I won't say here who we have lined up becasue I don't want to spoil the surprise

Great to see this happening...

Oh, and if you want my vote go get an hour talking
with Dave Holland, he's my current #1.

Thanks,

I was actually surprised at the sound he was getting without being plugged in. Maybe my computer was picking up more bass tones, but I thought it was pretty decent.

Thanks,
Thank would be nice...as a bonus (for me anywho..), he's in my conservatoire teaching for week, I only wish I was a much better player to appreciate what he can really teach me.

On Topic: Great videos, I hope to see more in the future.

Heh. I didn't even consider that you may have meant that. It's been a day since I heard it, but I can see that.
