Strange question: playing chords

I just had this idea the other day.... it's kinda strange I guess.

Is there anyone you guys can think of who plays full on chords (like the 3 upper strings) on the DB? Yes I know it's hard... and if one were to do it, you'd probably have to use super light tension setup/strings. Obviously I know you can do double stops but never seen anybody do 3 strings at a time.

Dave Finck. He was kicking my ass all over the place one night a few years back, Dave and I stopped off after playing Sofia's at a joint that has since bagged called JEZEBEL'S, it was Andy Ezrin on piano and Buddy Williams on drums (I think, it was DEFINITELY before breakfast today). Playing just great ideas all over the bass and all of these in tune double and triple stops.

David Friesen plays a lot of chordal stuff. At a master class once he showed me a bunch of different ones that he did. Lots of use of the thumb and stuff.

Sure. I do. Some of the Bach Cello Suites have triple stops and it isn't hard to arrange jazz tunes as bass solos with double and triple stops all over the place.

One of my favorite sounding triple stops is an E minor voiced as open E, thumb B on the A string and thumb G on the G string. Close-voiced triple stops in thumb position can be fun and practicing them can be a good way to increase your strength in thumb position.

I use Mittels with a medium action.

Not strange at all, I did a small off broadway production and had to play some chords arco. It wasn't a problem because I already knew the fingering shapes and what the chords should sound like. Oh, and I was using Helicore Orchestrals as well.
