Teacher in Toronto, Ontario area?

Hi all,

I'm looking for some suggestions and contact info for working with me on technique, approach to playing jazz and improvisation. I'm in London Ontario so Toronto is a drive I'm willing to make. I'm a bit rudderless at the moment.

I'm 43, playing the DB a lot on gigs and really need to step it up and move my playing further. Also considering investigating the possibility of part time studies in Toronto at York or Humber if that is even offered but that's a bit down the road.

Thanks
Steve

Hey Steve, I'm a Toronto bass player. If you pm me I will send you a bunch of numbers for guys around town who would be great. Also, Humber and York both have part time studies. At Humber, I think you can still get private lessons while studying part time. I'm not sure of the York situation.

One suggestion

Hi Steve

I take lessons with Mike Milligan. Check out:

http://www.torontobassteacher.com/

Mike is an awesome teacher, and has really helped both my double and electric playing, and well as my jazz skills.

Cheers

Tim

Kieran is a beast, I saw him/played his bass at the Rex jam last night
Also try Jim Vivian - I don't know if he teaches outside of York/U of T though

You can probably get lessons with Dave Young, a good friend of mine has been working on technique with him all summer.
