Well guys, after playing close attention to whoever was in town and seeing what they did, leaning the bass into my body seemed to work best for me. After reading all the posts in this and other threads sugesting lower the endpin and hold the bass more upright I thought I'd give it a go. It never worked for me previously at all. Felt darn awkward in fact. Not now though. Can't think why this is so easy now. Maybe I just got better. Maybe balancing it at a more vertical angle makes it difficult to begin with?

Whatever, I wouldn't have tried it without TB, so thanks guys and I'll support it when I get a pc that will let me (going to SFO in a couple of weeks anyway).

That's cool. Sometimes the "right way" feels all wrong for a while, that's why it's worth trying things out for a few weeks before you decide. Anyway, it's great that your new way of standing is working out for you!
