Worcester, MA Area Teachers

I've been playing upright bass for thirty years, most genres from bluegrass to classical. I've recently fallen in with a quality jazz group and want to upgrade my skills. I'm looking for a very good jazz teacher in the Worcester-Fitchburg MA area. Would be willing to do a little traveling ie. Boston or Springfield but close to home would certainly be best.

Welcome to TB.

I just started taking upright bass lessons with Bruce Gertz at Berklee. I think he also offers private lessons at his home. He likely also knows other teachers who might be closer to Worcester.

Also check out the Berklee Bass Dept web page:

There's also Bob Simonelli. He's in Worcester. I don't have his contact info but his father teaches piano at David French Music in Westboro.

I'm in Sutton. We should meet for coffee sometime.

Thanks folks for your responses so far!

Freddels-Cacophonist Provocateur. Sounds like my kind of guy.
We will indeed meet for coffee.
