Thought I should mention I put the rest of the new set of GHS Pressurewounds on and all is well - they sound great . It would seem that they don't survive being strung body-thru, even the higher strings - but as the winding length is too short for that (as you've mentioned in other posts) they should always be top loaded anyways . Thanks for your help!

If GHS Pressurewounds are too short (36.5") look at Ken Smith Comperssors (38" windings)

I'm thinking of getting one of the New Hagstrom 8 strings. The question is does anybody make a set of flat wounds that would fit it? Absolutely detest the sound and feel of rounds enough that I'd pass on the bass and look else where.

Thanks.

Jason, thanks again for taking care of me on my first order from you!

Note to others: He made the extra effort to get me a set of short scale D'Addario Chromes in time for me to get them on my bass for the Thursday performance last week of the theatre show I'm playing.

And thanks again for recommending Sadowsky flats, they really do hit the sweet spot between Chromes and TIs with regards to tension, and they sound incredible on my Jazz. I ended up ordering a set for my brother to try and a set of the lighter gauge for my fretless, too.

Jason,

Does D'Addario still make a set of strings for the NS Omni Bass that can be tuned in fifths: C,G,D,A,E (low to high)?

NS Omni Bass / Cello strings... But they are listed as E A D G (low-high), and have a single B and C string available...

They have a NS Cello set that appears to be the same length, not sure if that is what you need?

Can anybody tell me the approximate shipping times to Canada? I realize International shipping takes a little longer but Im getting impatient!!! (ordered on Nov 21)

The customer service was fantastic as the strings I had ordered were not available... I received an email from Jason within minutes letting me know and giving me the chance to change my order. I just can't wait for them to arrive!!!

It can vary... Some receive in a week, some longer... Let me know your order # and I will look into it for you. I guess it also depends on where in Canada as well.

You may want to check with customs it is possible the package could be held up there for some reason?

I would assume it will be there any day now.

Here is what the NS website says:

"Standard string sets for Omni Bass are tuned in fourths, exactly the same as the bass guitar. Sets designed to be tuned E, A, D, G, C, low to high, are recommended, while sets that start a fourth down, B, E, A, D, G, are also available. The exciting fifth tuning (C, G, D, A, E, from low to high), is a full octave below the conventional cello." (http://thinkns.com/instruments/strings.php)

I'm planning on having a 34" scale bass guitar built that will be tuned one octave below a cello: C, G, D2, A2. While crunching out numbers for possible string gauges/balanced tension sets for this tuning, I came across the NS Omni bass and noticed that they mention a set of D'Addario strings made for this exact tuning and scale length. However, I can't seem to find anyone that sells this particular set...only the standard 4ths tuning.

My order # is BASS- 7180... the tracking says it left the L.A sorting depot on Nov 25th. Im in Saskatchewan

I ordered some Labellas 1954 originals and Im just curious... on their website they say not to string them thru body. Is this due to the reported higher tension with these strings?

I have a 60th anniversary p-bass so I can go through body or bridge but I dont want to wreck the neck.

Let me know your thoughts and thanks for your help.

This is what their site says about the OMNI set... The info could be wrong on it I guess?

Yeah international first class does not have a step by step tracking service... Only way to get that is International Express.

La Bella makes a Thru-Body option for those which we do have listed on the website.

You purchased the Thru-Body version so you are fine going Thru-Body.

I'll send you a PM just to verify your order was shipped to the correct address. It was in a box roughly 8x8x4... so wont fit in a mail slot or box...
