Some of you are aware that the postage rates went up on Monday. Regular stamp went from $0.44 to $0.45.

Priority Mail increased anywhere from $0.35 to $3.50 a package!!! So I made some changes to the shipping on BassStringsOnline.com

You will now see multiple shipping options at checkout for USA customers:

A First Class shipping option is now available. If you are purchasing 1 or 2 items (single string or a string set or two for example) you now have the option to select First Class mail service.

First class mail packages will still be packaged to our high packaging standards with strings wrapped in cardboard and in plastic bags to avoid any moisture your package may encounter in shipping.

These are lesser expensive shipping options and add an extra day or so to transit time depending on your location. This rate is $3.45 or $4.45 depending on the number of items you are purchasing.

Priority Mail service is still available at a flat rate of now $6.25. This is a flat rate for any size order via Priority Mail. One set or 50 sets...

With BassStringsOnline.com you get the services that you pay for.

Express shipping is available if needed, but with Priority Mail, you generally see items 2 days after they are shipped. We are working on an express mail program now that the USPS has released new Flat Rate Express boxes. (this should help YOU!)

If you are registered as a VIP you will notice shipping rates are $0.01 LESS than posted above. This helps me see that your order is receiving VIP pricing at checkout.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions at all. Do not hesitate to ask any questions!!!

Thanks for the tip. It reminded me that I has some Labellas in my cart, which I had forgotten to pay for. Anyway, I just paid for them. Look forward to getting them on my recently bought Fury.

Can't remember if it was yesterday or Wednesday I ordered two sets of Labella DTB rounds (at a great price). Now they're here in my hands. Go out to dinner with the ladyfriend or go home & put the new strings on my Precision?
Thanks bassstringsonline!

I just realized BSO was your outfit from drooling over your fretless Smith 6 you have for sale. You will be my new go to source for strings from now on. I had no idea that was you.

D'Addario ProSteels ROUND WOUND Build your own Custom String Set!

Both a .018P Plain Steel and a .020P Plain Steel are listed under the "Build your own Custom String Set!" section. How long is the speaking length of these strings? Thanks.

They will fit any scale length instrument. The strings are about 48 long.

Since they are plain steel the whole length is the "speaking length". Just FYI.

Very nice!

I never realized these specific gauges were available for bass until I visited BSO. D'Addario's tension data sheet only lists these gauges for guitar...and I assumed they would be too short for my longer scale needs. Thanks for making them available.

Good point!

Can you tell that I had round wound strings on the brain when I worded my question?

No worries! What's even more confusing is single-wrap strings are sometimes sold in the extra-long scale length exclusively as well, because they don't jam up on a tuner like two-wrap and three-wrap strings.

Yeah,

When looking at the D'Addario custom string sets the High-C strings will all fit just about any instrument you can put them on... Their useable winding length is over 40" long!

Every now and then I try to think of the best way to list those strings without confusing someone... But since there are no silks you really have no problem putting those strings on anything you can.

You can always ask me if a specific string set will fit on your specific instrument and I will be more than happy to let you know.
