They were unlined and rather light. The bag I have now weights more than my bass. Has anyone seen these old style canvas bags for sale? Does anyone have one for sale? |

Unfortunately I cannot give you a hint where to get them.
But you know that you won't have any impact protection from such a bag.
If you only have a cheap plywood instrument this might be OK, otherwise look out for a leightweight alternative with some padding. |

My wife made her own very slightly padded bag from upholstery fabric and polyester quilting batt material. Its a great bag to carry and the handles are exactly where she needs them to be.
I see a lot of bags in the shop and hers is the easiest one to put on and take off that I've ever used. If she'd only make some, I could sell them.  |

Is this really what you're looking for? I bought it before I knew there WERE padded bags, so I've long felt I paid too much and got too little.
