Alphonso Johnson's new Warwick Bass!

Warwick recently completed a custom shop bass for endorsing artist Alphonso Johnson! Its an Infinity fretless, with a ton of custom options according to Alphonso's specifications. Have a look!

Mahogany Body, Maple Neck, Tigerstripe Ebony fingerboard. Special EMG pickups, custom MEC preamp, and Piezo bridge pickups! What an incredible instrument!

They're not EMGs. They look like a pair of EMGEMGs!

Nice bass, however I do not understand the reasoning behind the pickups being as gauche as the way they are and the slightly weird control layout. That's what customs exist for though....

Looks like a fun bass, especially what with the piezos and all....

The pickups are EMG's, that were made especially for Alphonso. They were reverse-engineered by Rob Turner at EMG from a set of very early EMG pickups that Alphonso had in an old Alembic bass (some of the first ones made). I hope this helps! Thanks!
