Just a nut - plastic?

Hey guys,

So, I've had my $$ for some time now. The serial number tells me it's a '97 German, built on Halloween... Awesome?

Everything I read tells me that my JAN should be brass, but it's black plastic.

... Did I get short changed?

Craig630 - We began using the Brass Just-A-Nut on all German basses starting in 2011. Your bass would most likely have the composite JAN. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you've got any questions or need assistance in any way. Thanks!
