Finally got the new Streamer home and was able to take a few quick pics with both of them together (after putting it through its paces for a few hours and giving it a full setup. My god, the LX just GROWLS! What a great tone!)

2008 Streamer Stage II 4 and 2011 Streamer LX 5

Question for WarwickOfficial or others playing 5 strings. I have a Streamer LX 5 and as far as I can tell I have to use a tapered B string. Is there a gauge of non-tapered B that would work with this bridge? Would I have to modify the bridge to make a non-tapered B work?

I'd like to open up to more options for strings than the tapered market allows. I've found a string set I like that is tapered but I have many more choices in non-tapered.

Thanks in advance.

fishstix - I've used both tapered and non-tapered, up to .135 and haven't had an issue. I have heard that some makes of strings are wound fatter at the ball end, which makes them a tight fit...that can be rememdied by a slight crimp with pliers. I've used DR, Fodera, and few other brands besides my usual Warwick strings, and have yet to use one that doesn't fit. I hope this helps. Thanks!

I've also done the "crimp with pliers" trick and it has never been an issue. Sure, tapered string are more convenient, but that hasn't stopped me from trying to find the perfect strings for my 'wicks.

Guitar Center...Was crazy it's like new except for a few tiny scratches but very few. The original owner had taken the original MEC pickups out that were active and replaced with passive Bartolini P2 and whoever did the work never changed the pots so it sounded terrible. I guess he gave up so I have changed pickups and preamps a bunch of times and settled with what’s in it but I wish I had the original MEC pups…Thanks I love it! The black hardware an up-charge and the clear coat.

It has a few dings here and there, one on the tip of the bottom horn you can't see from the front or back, but other than that, it's in great shape. When I first picked it up the wood was really dry and light, but a few coats of Howard's feed n wax fixed that up real quick!

NICE! Barts and what a 918 NTMB? Bet it sounds great. Really woody organic tone with the bubinga and bolt on neck. Great combo. Welcome to the world of Wick after this you will be addicted to the feel of the raw wood in your hands...After holding my wife's or kids hand it's the next thing in line to feeling like I'm holding on to home.
