CORRECTION: The Dirty in your picture is different... but you did get the one in my below picture at some point, too.

if it's a smooth surface that doesn't show the wood grain, then sanding shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, try using a paint stripper. Test inside the electronics compartment first to be sure.

Thanks for the comments.
And yes, each one of them has a particular flavour but all keep the trademark Warwick sound.

But it's a natural finish so its all grain. Any ideas?

when I say grain, I should have specified that you can FEEL the grain. in other words, it's a physical thing.
Since it's a natural finish, are you sure you want to paint it? Just asking...
Either way, I would say sanding it would be your best bet. I would start with a medium course sand paper, and work up to something like 1000 grit. There are others on here that can offer better advice about how to sand it.

Headstock. Note the that the "Rockbass" symbol is tiny.

I've had this bass for about 8 months and I still can't bear to tear off the plastic control layout guideline.

A couple more shots:

It's strung with Elixirs, and sounds great with the tone control backed off fully. In fact, that's the only way I play it. With the tone off.
Just an FYI you can take the knobs off the bass and take the plastic control layout off without ripping it off.

I know. But I like the plastic there. Makes it hard for an eejit like me to forget what the controls do.
