Here's a play-along I did with my Infinity. It's going direct into a Zoom Q3HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlm62lXEIMk

Here's some noodling I did when I first got the Zoom. The Infinity is plugged into a Carvin combo amp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q84ApkkfQ6U

Heck yeah I would really like to see some demos of your electronics swaps. I keep toying with the idea of switching mine out on my $$.

Here's my '88 SSII in a nice show we've done last year... plugged in my svt4pro a sansamp and a bit of turbo rat !!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPojDtK8lH0

I put more mids and high on the bass pre in my sound at that time... after seing a couple of video from shows we've done, I've rolled them back and set the on board flat now... I think it will help the mix of the band in general !!

your thought ??

The performance is very tight. The music is an interesting combination of thrash and Death, musically sort of in the vein of Trivium or Children of Bodom.
Its hard to make out your bass, but that happens a lot with live recordings like that. The frequencies just aren't right for small microphones. I can hear the highs sometimes, but that's about it.
Do you have any studio recorded stuff on a website anywhere?

Thanks !!

We put a couple of songs on youtube but unfortunately I'm the new guy in the band and I just came too late to put myself on the record...
But on the next album, you'll have plenty of SSII with distortion !!

Here is the song played in the live clip, and another one that became our intro song for a while more prog. oriented :

For sure there is a lot of guits and keys and drums in metal band so the bass gets a little place and is harder to find your place in the mix live, especially recorded on a camera that usually won't pick the bass much. On our live videos you can always hear that much highs of my bass and the nasal mids character a bit. That's why I try to tame the beast a little to get a better place. Here is an other live example with my previous sestting and it sounds the same :

By the way your video sound very cool and nice, pretty tight and well done... I love your bass sound !! My cousin which plays in Aeternam, has almost the same bass as yours (LX $$) and I remember he sounds that way too !! here is a video, there you can hear the bass !!

I hear more Arsonists Get All the Girls in the these two, maybe because of the keyboard and layered vocals.

Did you run a line directly in to your camera for the audio or is that the mic? Do you know if the mic quality is similar to what is on the Zoom handheld recorders?

The play-along video was the bass plugged into a Presonus Audiobox, and then into the line in of the Zoom. The video where I'm noodling is the sound captured by the stereo microphones. I don't know how the microphone compares to other Zoom recorders but I'm quite impressed with the quality of mine.
