Warwick Flaming Blonde Thumb LTD... i just brought my new baby home. it is brand new and i noticed that the bass came with everything except the wax. is this model treated and waxed like the others or is it to be left alone? i have heard differing opinions on this topic-warwick official...can you clear this up for me? ty |
If it has a clear coat it requires no wax...Raw wood requires the wax. It is treated but needs it to stay conditioned and protected. |
it is as raw as can be...just like my ovangkol thumb. |
I'd look into some wax. The satin finish is the one that doesn't require it. The natural oil finish (which I presume yours is) does to keep it lookin sharp and conditioned. Maybe if you ask nicely, they'll toss you a can. |
just contacted the seller he seems to be on top of making it right. i saw a tutorial yesterday about a guy waxing his flaming thumb. |

The Thumb Flaming Blonde has a natural oil finish, and should be waxed with the Warwick Wax. You can see our tutorial here: http://warwick.de/modules/infos/info...ID=24382&cl=EN Please let me know if you've got any questions or need assistance in any way. Thanks, and enjoy your new bass! |

JEOMK: just ejaculated on my keyboard lol |
well the consensus on this bass is that it is a good all-around sound for what i am currently doing. has a very strong growl and dark mid presence in series mode on HB PU. very powerful, very clear and very warwick however, due to the use of different woods and different PU layout than traditional thumbs, it doesn't sound like a thumb per se-i knew it wouldn't, but that is fine with me because i already have a thumb BO 6er. it is an eye catcher and very rare and that more than makes up for it. also-the smaller body shape seems to fit my body quite nicely (i am 5 foot 3) looks good on me i am told ;) |
