Our special feature "Warwick/Framus Players Face To Face" is a series of exclusive video interviews with a very fresh perspective. All of them feature musicians exclusively - not only acting as the interviewees! Experience musicians interviewing musicians – what could be an interview situation more ideal for discussing musical topics?
Framus Endorser Jean-Paul Bourelly is of Haitian descent and was born in Chicago. He quickly became an internationally-acclaimed guitarist known for crossing musical borders effortlessly and has worked with legends such as Cassandra Wilson, Pharaoh Sanders, Alvin Jones and Miles Davis. In this interview, Jean-Paul meets Swedish-born Warwick Signature Endorser Jonas Hellborg, who became a living bass legend thanks to his membership in John McLaughlin's legendary group Mahavishnu Orchestra and his one-of-a-kind, highly accomplished playing style.
The interview led by Jonas covers Jean-Pauls musical background, which originated in his home city of Chicago, where he discovered funk, blues and jazz. Furthermore, Bourelly tells Jonas about his first contact with the New York jazz scene after moving to the "Big Apple" at the end of the 1970s, where his rise to success began.
In the coming five months, a new, exclusive interview will be released on warwick.de each week. All videos can be found in the section "Warwick/Framus Players Face To Face", so be sure to check warwick.de on a regular basis!
