I've seen many posts enquiring about custom string sets, especially 4-string BEAD. Warwick Strings come in a variety of sizes and sets, with lots of options! They are very high-quality, and we offer something for everyone. You can learn more about them here:

We offer a choice of of electric and acoustic bass strings, in configurations not commonly seen elsewhere.


Warwick Electric Bass Strings


*Warwick Red Label strings - Stainless Steel and Nickel Roundwounds, available in 4, 5 and 6 string sets.


*Warwick Yellow Label strings - Nickel plated, handwound roundwounds, made in US, available in 4, 5 and 6 string sets - also with the option of a 5 string set with either high C or low B.


*Warwick Black Label strings - handwound, stainless steel roundwounds, made in US, available in long and medium scale. The long scale strings come in 4, 5, and 6 string sets - and feature the option of a 5 string set with either high C or low B. They also come in 4-string sets for BEAD or F#BEA - with a low F# at .175". The Medium-Scale sets are available in 4 and 5 string sets, which includes a piccolo gauge set .020" - .080"


*Warwick EMP strings feature the Enhanced Molecular Protection coating, made in US, and are available in 4, 5 and 6 string sets - with the 5-string option of either high C or low B. They feel great, sound great, and last a very long time.


Warwick Acoustic Bass Strings


*Warwick Red Label Bronze acoustic strings - for medium-scale basses.


*Warwick Black Label acoustic strings - phosphor/bronze - which come in both medium-scale and long-scale


*Warwick Triumph Bass Strings - specially designed for our Electric-Upright Triumph Bass. They are handmade nickel plated flatwound strings, available in 4 and 5 string sets - with the 5 string sets having the option of either high C or low B.

You know I always wondered why I don’t see any love for black label Warwick strings. They have that tapered B and works great on my Spector basses as well as my Warwicks. They are always super consistent even more so than DR or anything else I have tried. They stay bright and snappy forever.

I bought a new old stock Warwick Streamer last year and it had the original strings on it and it’s a 2004 so they were exposed to air and with tension for 7 freaking years and they sounds completely brand new and I used them for another 2 months before I changed them. Just great strings they are loud and even and the B is tight and focused. Sometimes I wonder when guys try a Warwick and they don’t like the sound I think if it had newer black labels on it then their impression would have been way different.

The only drawback to mention is the steel strings are a bit rough feeling for the first 2 or 3 hours of play but it goes away so quickly it’s never a problem for me. I love em!!! I am a fanboy.

Thanks for your feedback Means2nEnd! I agree, I absolutely love the Warwick Black Label strings, and they do last a long time. I also read about players who want 4-string BEAD sets, so they buy a 5 string set and throw away the G...as well as those who are looking for the low F#, which we have. I did a couple summers at a theme park playing 6 shows a day, and used the Red Labels on my Corvette during that time. They were the ONLY string that was affordable and lasted over a week; most other brands lasted 4-5 days and then does.

I agree, Jon. I think they all have something great to offer. I've also had great experience with the EMP's...they came on my latest bass. You'd never guess they were coated, they sound great, and really last!

I'm debating between yellow and black label for my Warwick Corvette Standard 5 string. I'd like to try the Yellow labels. Is the B-string taper wound?

I have a Warwick Corvette Standard 5 string. With the Yellow labels do I need the regular or long scale strings? If so, what are the part numbers?

Hi Archie - Our Yellow Label strings are long scale (34") and the part number for a 5 string set with Low B is: 41301 M 5B 045/135"

If you want the 5 string set with High C, its: 41311 ML 5B 025/105"

The black labels are great strings. I bought a used bass with them on and changed them for a different brand after an extended period of playing time. I soon realized that I was missing the tone and feel of my mystery strings. After a little searching I figured out that they were warwicks by the trademark tapering exposed spiral wrap at the tuning pegs. I've gone back to warwick blacks and I'm not turning back. I believe they are round core construction which contributes to to their supple feel. Highly recommended.

jeremy_p, I can ask about that, but currently we are only offering roundwound strings - in Stainless, Nickel, and our special EMP (Enhanced Molecular Protection) strings. Thanks!

I'm curious about the core of these strings. I realize the wraps are all round but are the cores hexagonal or round? I felt the strings had the softer less stiff feel of a round core string. When I inspected the part of the string that has the core exposed it seemed like it appeared to be smooth or round but perhaps even if it was hexagonal I wouldn't be able to see that kind of detail on such a small scale. Can you confirm what type of core is used?

Nice! Thanks for the info. I'm going to try the yellow labels on my 1978 Guild B-301 to baby the frets a little. Nice thing is I live 15 minutes away from a juststrings.com warehouse. Great site to buy Warwick strings from by the way.

Are you sure? The yellow labels I have are hex core.

Buslady7803 - The Black Label strings are Warwick strings, that come standard on most German basses, other than Custom Shop and NT Basses. We have them made in the USA.

To clarify/edit - The Yellow, Black, and EMP's are hex core, but I believe the Red Label are round core. I will double check and confirm. I personally use EMP's, but really like the Yellow and Black also.
