Wenge on wenge oh my!

I just opened up my new issue of BP and the first Warwick add is a special edition Corvette $$ using FSC woods. Solid wenge neck and wenge fingerboard with what looks like M-O-P blocks. Ebony fingerboard, the new water based UV clear coating, and more. Crazy nice bass even though it’s right handed but I’m used to that.

I have been reading some buzz on the Warwick/Framus blog about 2013 and the use of sold wenge necks as standard on the German bolt on and maybe neck through basses. I hope this is true I love the feel of wenge and the tone is to die. I hope Garey our own WarwickOfficial can extrapolate…hint, hint.

From what I've heard, it's definitely happening with exception to models that haven't had wenge necks in the past (as in, the models that weren't affected by the switch to ovankol). But Garey will definitely know more.

I think a wenge neck and solid wenge body Taranis would be just fantastic. I bet it would sound like thunder and crumble buildings.

The bass you're looking at is now the prize in our Monthly Giveaway! Its the Corvette $$ SE FSC Open Day bass - and its made from 100% FSC Woods - Wenge, Ash, and Ebony!

For 2013, we will be going back to Wenge necks as standard for most models, other than the maple-neck models. We have a great supply of FSC Wenge - its going to be a great year!

WarwickOfficial, with Warwick switching back to wenge necks will the Thumb NT still have an ebony fretboard, but a wenge neck instead or will the fretboard now be wenge as well?
