All the prospective students are evaluated on a set of skills, and reading music is one of them, so you will need to have at least some basic reading skills.
Get some music books, charts and start spending 20 minutes reading, EVERY day.
You will see how much you will improve!!
Would you mind providing some titles to some books that you've found helpful?
I played trumpet in jr. high. All we were taught were the notes on the scale and the notes on the instruement and it was assumed we would put two and two together. I was never able to do it.
I listened to my section play the peace and was able to play it by ear after that. But I always found not being able to read better a detriment.
Thanks for any leads on the books.
