Advice For A Beginner

Hello Mr. Grey,

I consider myself a beginner bassist, although I've played some with my local church's worship group. I can identify the notes on the fretboard, but that's about the extent of my musical knowledge. I'm not very content with this, and would love to establish a good musical foundation in order to grow into a sound bass player.

My time and finances are a little limited (going to Berklee is out of the question), but do you have a recommendation for a tool/curriculum to with which to learn music? I'm intrigued by Roy Vogt's "Teach Me Bass Guitar", but would love to hear any thoughts that you may have.

Thank you in advance for your time!
