I feel like an intruder here, as I do not play double bass, electric only, but I really like OP style, choice of notes and rhythm.
I first heard of Oscar Pettiford a while back, really liked what I heard. During the Xmas holidays I went out and bought a boxset.
Those are the CDs playing in my house since then.
So far, I've transcribed 2 solos and working on a 3rd one (a 5 chorus cello solo).
I've posted 2 transcriptions of Oscar Pettiford's solo on "
Blues in The Closet" from a Tal Farlow recording and one of OP's first recorded solo "
The Man I Love" from a Coleman Hawkins
Record on my new site. I've also posted play-along videos of the solos so people can get an idea of how it goes as these recording are not easy to find. Those who are interested are invited to download the transcriptions in bmp format.
If anyone finds any inaccuracies, please leave a comment and I'll correct 'em!
As for the TABS, I thought about electric non-readers that might like to learn the piece.
It's the pretty much the fingering I'm using in the videos.
Any feedback or comments a welcome.

Enjoy!
PS: The notation software is not very good for enharmonic notes, In certain circumstances it wouldn't let me write a Bb only an A#, etc...sorry about that...
I'm looking into a new software. Has anyone tried Finale notepad?
