All The Things You Are *VERSE*

Hey, does anyone here happen to have a lead sheet for the verse for All The Things You Are?

Naturally, we almost always play the bop intro...but I have an upcoming gig with a singer who wants to do the verse.

I've never even heard it before!

Thanks!

Try renaming the tune "All the things you Could've Been If You Weren't Such a Beeatch" and write your own lyrics!"

sorry.
"Time and again I've longed for adventure
Something to make my heart beat much faster
What did I long for, I never really knew.
Finding your love, I found my adventure,
Touching your hand my heart beat much faster
All that I want in all of this world is you.

You are the promised kiss of springtime
That makes the lonely winter seem long
You are the breathless hush of evening
That trembles on the brink of a lovely song.
You are the angel glow that lights the star,
The dearest things I know are what you are.
Someday my happy arms will hold you,
And someday I'll know that moment divine
When all the things you are, are mine."

love that google.

Yeah -- this is it! I just need the changes -- or a good recommendation on a clean recording to transcribe.

Sorry, lo-speed, dial-up, can't listen to music online.

Try this, it's a short clip, scroll down a bit, you might be able to get it:
http://www.amazon.com/You-Me-Bruce-H...dp/B000B66PNO/

He's doing it in E minor so transpose accordingly:

(they skip the first part but maybe it's the same?)

Gb
Finding your love, I found my adventure,

F-7(b5)..........Bb7.......F-7..................Bb7
Touching your hand my heart beat much faster

Gb/Bb.....Gbm/A..Ab-7.......Db7......Gb...........BIG B7
All that I want in all of this world is you.

E-...A-........D7..................G
You are the promised kiss of springtime.... etc

I simplified the chords... it's a reasonable facsimile

IMO if the singer wants to do it it's up to them to provide you with the chart but I know it's not a perfect world.

Thank you -- thank you!

I will listen to that clip as soon as I can hop on a high speed connex...

At this point, the singer isn't exactly sure what key yet...looks like we'll be having one of those phone rehearsals soon!

Have you seen the Standards Real Book by Chuck Sher? They have lots of great (and kinda obscure these days) verses written out.

I'm interested to learn more about this tune now...

Just wondering if there are any that are considered "definitive" vocal versions? Most of the stuff in my collection is instrumental only.

I think I have one of those Sher books but never noticed any supplemental stuff in there that wasn't on most charts.

I also had not heard that intro part of All The Things You'd Be By Now If Sigmund Freud's Wife Was Your Mother... didn't even know it existed in fact. And I don't know who the guy is that I linked to.. just that it was a source for the material in question.

Also, I put dots in those chords I posted so that they would line up with the lyrics... but then I went back and edited the chords and didn't realize until now that I messed up the alignment... I'll fix that now just in case it messes you up.
