Baby, I've Got News For You

A hip blues that Woody Herman sang.
I know two verses; does anyone know if there are more?

You said before I met you,
your life was rather tame,
I took you to a nightclub, and the
whole band knew your name.
Ooo Ooo, Baby, I've got news for you,
Your story don't ring true, and baby, I've got news for you.

You wore a diamond bracelet,
"A gift from Uncle Joe".
I looked at the inscription, it said
"Love from Daddy-oh."
Ooo Ooo, etc.

Anyone old enough to remember? (I'm old enough to regard Paul Wall Button as a bright younger player.)
Any additions gratefully received.

Buddy Guy does several versions of this song. It's one of his live standards. It's titled just "I've got news for you".

Searching on the web...
written by: R. Alfred (???)

I guess Ray Charles did one too.

Did 'e do right:
Thank you, thank you. It's for an important gig in October which I'll tell about, if I play well.

I guess it was Roy Alfred who wrote it. Seems like Ray Charles did the first recording and since then has become a Chicago Blues standard. I've heard it done a bunch of times by other people too.

I still like the way the Herd did it.
Any more lyrics out there?

FWIW Donosaurus, I looked and looked and looked and it looks like those are the lyrics. I seen some other sites, but the lyrics were the same.
