I'm curious if I could get music for a double bass concerto, like Vanhal, but arranged for a backing concert band and not an orchestra. Does that exist?
WOW, that sounds like a nightmare. I bet it would be heavy on the woodwinds and the brass would sit a while, play everynow and then..... well the acompanyment does that anyway on a concerto so they should be fine

The American composer Burnet Tuthill wrote a concerto for DB and band. It's not a classical piece like the Vanhal but worth a look. Sheetmusicplus.com had it, just search "Tuthill".

What I really meant was if I could get pieces that were already written for an orchestra, just transposed for concert band, but I'll check that out. Thanks.
