Berlioz's Le Corsair and Bernstein's West Side Story

Just got my music for Texas All State High School Philharmonic...we're playing Le Corsair by Berlioz and The Symphonic Dances from West Side Story by Bernstein. Both of these seem pretty tough...anyone ever played these and have any tips for learning them? thanks
