Question Best Way to Learn Tunes

I played good deal of jazz gigs before I went to college at age 19, when I was in college, I majored in classical bass performance and did not continue to play jazz as much as I should have. I really love the music and have always been a devoted listener, but now I am getting back into playing jazz and I have a gig next Saturday. I really need to practice this week and I would like to know the best ways to learn new tunes. I have been transcribing some Ray Brown lines and, for what it's worth, I have a fake book, but it would be great to get input from some experienced jazz players on ways to learn new tunes.
