books to give away

Moving onto a boat and have given away all my basses. These are texts accumulated over 33 years of studying and playing and I'd like to give them to good homes. All I ask is that you Paypal me the shipping cost after I send them. That would be the real shipping cost plus the price of the new postal service plastic envelope. In North America I'd guess between $6 and $12 depending on weight but I'll send them anywhere in the world. Don't ask about shipping costs in advance please, I don't have time to check that for you. If you want to check it yourself the stuff will be shipping via Canada Post from Vancouver, BC, Canada V5T 4R8
And if you're really broke (like a lot of students are) and honestly don't have 10 bucks to pay shipping let me know and I'll probably send it to you anyway...just make sure you pass the favor down the line sometime.

I'll leave the list up a few days and try to send them out the next couple of weeks.

To request something please email me with your shipping address.

I don't wanna try to keep track via this thread so you gotta email me if you want something.

The list:

GONE Pat Martino Creative Force vol 1 & 2
guitar books but an interesting take on harmonic organization

GONE Bach Cello Suites -Pierre Fournier Edition

GONE Walking Bassics - Ed Fuqua

GONE True Cuban Bass -Carlos Del Puerto

GONE Pat Martino Linear Expressions
see above

GONE Odd Time Reading Text - Louis Bellson
same format as his classic Reading Text in 4 4

GONE World's Greatest Trombone Solos
good reading practice

GONE Salsa Guidebook (Sher Publishing)
a primer on Salsa ensemble playing. not bass specific

GONE Bach For Bass -Josquin des Pres
probably the only book I ever bought with tab (it also has standard notation)

GONE The Development of Cello Hands -Lillian Rehberg Goodman
written for cellists but the concepts are very useful to bassists too

GONE Scale System for Violoncello -Carl Flesch
a classic scale study book for the cello

GONE Bach Two Part Inventions
piano edition for you ambitious Bromberg type tappers

GONE 77 Baroque Basslines

GONE Violin Maker's Notebook/Useful Measurements For Violin Makers -Henry Strobel

GONE Cello Making Step By Step -Henry Strobel (requires Strobel's Violin Making Step By Step to be complete)

GONE Bach Cello Suites -Vandesall Edition
a "clean" edition with no bow or dynamic markings

GONE Bach Solo Cello Suites - Kurtz/Anna Magdalena Edition
interesting to be able to compare a modern edition on one page with the manuscript copied by Bach's wife on the facing page

GONE Funkifying The Clave - Lincoln Goines/Robby Ameen

Hope these are useful to somebody.

swansong

Everything is spoken for.
Thanks all for accepting these books....I hope you find them useful and I will get them out to you in the next couple of weeks.
If you have any questions email me at ashkenazy@bigstring.com or better yet at my primary email address jeffbonny@gmail.com
PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME AT TALKBASS AS I WILL UNABLE TO CHECK THAT.

I got kicked off TB a while back and sneaked back in mostly because I knew there were good people here who would want these books. Based on the two great local folks who have come and picked things up already I think I made the right decision to cut the fence as it were and come back temporarily.

For anyone who remembers my beautiful Azola Deco Bass keep an eye and ear out for the Danish bassist Jesper Bodilsen. He played it a couple of years ago when he was through town with drummer Ed Thigpen and was the only person who I ever felt loved this instrument like I do so I have given it to him. Jesper got such a huge, beautiful sound out of the Deco in just the few minutes he played it I know he'll be a fine custodian. After a very intense and ultimately overwhelming thirty-three years my bass playing days are done.

God bless you all.
I'm gone.
