Dittersdorf Concerto

Does anyone play the Dittersdorf Concerto No. 2 in C Major? I know it's usually played in D Major. I started working on it last night from the Hoffmeister edition which is in C Major. After about 30 minutes of practicing I realized that this can't be the normal key and I looked at the facsimile and a copy of another edition and saw that they were both in D Major. The harmonics lay much better in D Major. Needless to say I am not going to play it in C Major after realizing this but I am curious to know if it is done in C Major.

You could always try both?? Transcribe the hoffmesiter up just to have more options just for fun?
