free sheet music

There are a ton of them search for "free Sheet Music" there are a lot of sites that have some for free to get you to subscribe. I found the ones from the U.K. have the most songs for free. You will have to look at a lot of sites to find bass music or music with bass parts. I down load cello parts play them helps learn upper positions.

Here is some for you
http://www.gmd.de/Misc/Music/scores/Introduction.html
http://www.lysator.liu.se/runeberg/
http://www.musicaviva.com/
http://www.8notes.com/

Look on some of these sites for anything by Jacob van Eyck. He was a blind recorder player back in the 1500's. You can transpose almost everyting of his to play on a bass and it sounds real nice. A bunch of it has been trasposed for Cello and you can play them as is--they start slow and build up and will work you hard by the time you get to the end of each one

Enjoy
Joe

beethoven symphonies' bass parts

i'm interested in getting ahold of the complete bass parts for all the beethoven symphonies. i understand such a collection is available for sale (probably through lemur among others), but does anybody know a site where i can download the parts instead? i've tried the sites in this thread (and those that came up in a google search) and haven't had success.

thanks,
sean p

I've had great success with my community college library in finding orchestral scores to check out for free. That option may be worth your while if the others fail.

Music notation programs are usually able to open .mid files that you can download from Ludwigvan at classical midi files. You'll have to do a little editing but your bass part is there.

Check this place out they have the full orchestra scores to quite a few symphonies ( for example beethoven)

Are there any pages with free sheet music of capuzzi, dragonetti, marcello or botessini?

So you open Google and you type "autumn leave midi files", you browse the answers and you find this page of midi files starting with autumn leaves where you find a link to this miles page. Now you scroll down to the "midi selection" section and you download the "Autumn Leaves" midi file. You import it into your music notation program and edit the bass part to your liking.

You're welcome

Man, this is a great link, Thanks.

Jan Angermüller's Double Bass Page contains a lot of DB related midi files (sorry, no sheet music per se).
