Faure Elegie

I recently listened to a cellist at my school preform this piece, I really enjoyed it, its a very moving piece. I'm very tempted to buy it and try it out on bass. Has any bassist every preformed it? and do you think that it is in range for the double bass?

He also has his arrangement of it available for sale. His arrangements are usually pretty good quality, and tend to offer decent fingering suggestions if you need them.

Mr Levinson did it as well on his recordings. I believe that Homer Mensch came out with an arrangement from IMC.

Duncan McTier played it as well. Very beautifully I might add. It’s on his capriccio cd. I think he transposed it one key down to A minor (instead of starting in a D he starts on a C).

My favourite is Wolfgang Guettler's, it's not on CD unfortunately
