Question Good compositions for EB

I'm putting together a quartet and need to have an arsenal of Jazz Standards that YOU think work with EB. I don't own an EUB yet. For example, my current list has:

Red Clay
Mr. PC
Mercy, Mercy, Mercy
Oleo
Take Five
Chameleon (of course)
Mr. Magic (ugh, but it's a crowd pleaser)

A couple of the members are new to Jazz so I'm trying to keep it fairly simple. I'm looking for compositions to try.

ANY suggestions will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thanks So Much

If I would have listened, if I would have understood diabetes like I understood music, maybe these things wouldn't have happened.

How about a fake book of standards? Anything in there that looks good to your group would work. Lately there are some fake books that also come in Bb and Eb editions if some of your players need that.

By "EB", do you mean Electric Bass? If you do, then you can play any jazz standards. I played double bass throughout college and began playing electric more after I graduated. Now, I play electric 99% of the time. I play a P-Bass with TI Jazz Flats (flatwound strings) on it.

I think my sound fits the genre pretty well. The tunes on MySpace and the my Trio page are on the funkier side, but I use the same sound on my straight-up jazz gigs too. Have a listen and see what you think.

Peace,
Joe

Wow thanks folks. I mean electric bass. I got a copy of the Real Book today and went through a few tunes with my teacher. Yep, anything will work. I used a JBass with Barts and Fender flats. Sounds goood.

Thanks ya'll for the support

i find cannonball adderley has funkier material that can be easily adapted to electric bass.
also obviously anything jaco (difficult i know) but i'm sure you could play a good rendition of soul intro/the chicken.

Some specific tunes that might be nice:
In a Sentimental Mood
Footprints
Yardbird Suite
Boogie Stop Shuffle
Goodbye Pork Pie Hat
My Favorite Things
Night In Tunisia
All Blues
Take the A Train
So What
On Green Dolphin Street
I started with my first jazz experience being playing Charlie Parker heads and changes on Upright so that might be a good place to start, if you can read/play changes at 200 bpms the ballads just feel like cake.
