Great virtuosic work/showpiece?

I know of Gliere's Tarantella and Van goens' Scherzo, but are there any other good showpieces? Obviously fast and requiring great skill and such? I feel like these two are just too overplayed!

Check out the pieces Frank Proto wrote for Francois Rabbath, there are a few concertos, the Carmen Fantasy, Variations on Paganini... they're all pretty virtuosic.
