| I think there are plenty of masterpieces for Double Bass. Tubin Concerto is just one of them. Misek Sonata is a great piece and so is the Hindemith. Bottesini also brings chills to musicians who don't play bass. I was away this summer and John Patitucci gave a concert and one of the pieces on the program was a Bottesini piece and a trumpet player came up to me and said that his pieces are ridiculous and he was happy to hear them played. Many consider Bottesini to be the Sarasate of the Double Bass. If you knew how extensive the repertoire of the Double Bass would you would realize how many great pieces we actually have.
